The Surveyor is a large, fully plated ARC that rolls. It was designed to be used for reconnaissance. If you find one, it will stop and send a bright blue light into the sky. The transmission window isn't just for aesthetic purposes: It is when the machine actively relays player locations to arc raiders items for sale.
When left alone, the Surveyor will prefer to disengage from its task and roll away. If you corner it, it will launch a high-speed attack that can knock anyone on its path to the ground. First, treat it as a skirmisher. Only when forced to become a brawler.
Its critical weakness and the behavior of the buy arc raiders coins
Surveyor stops scanning, opens and transmits. This window exposes its core.
Once damaged, the device will try to escape.
Charge attack: it will charge through if you are blocking its path or if you stand on the way.
Armor shredding: Panels snap off when armor is damaged; these pieces can be looted where they fall.
Tip - Position yourself to block escape routes before committing damage. Heavy ammo or grenades will strip plate faster than standard ammunition, which can lead to more core damage.
How to get a Surveyor off quickly
Focus on the core exposed when you hear the blue beam transmission. It's the most damaging window.
Use explosives and heavy ammo to blast off the armor plates. Then, switch to sustained firing on the core.
Anticipate your escape roll. Rotate a player to the side of its likely path. This will prevent a clean exit.
When it charges, you should break the line of sight and roll to one side. Don't reverse in a straight-line.
It is important to note that a Surveyor may be able to roll itself off of ledges during some encounters. Be aware of cliffs and catwalks to prevent being bulldozed off the edge, as well as to secure any falling parts.
What you can expect in terms of loot and XP
Both large and small debris are dropped by surveyors. The armor that breaks becomes lootable near the point of damage. Surveyor vaults can be found in either debris level.
Main debris: ARC Alloy, ARC Powercell, ARC Motion Core, ARC Circuitry, Advanced ARC Powercell, Sensors, Surveyor Vault
Small debris: ARC Alloy, ARC Motion Core, Advanced ARC Powercell, Surveyor Vault
The XP rewards for the destruction of the unit are simple: 200XP, plus 300XP if you loot the core. 100XP is awarded for each extra part.
Surveyor Vault (Drop, Uses, and Processing)
The Surveyor Vault drops from destroyed Surveyors. It is a recyclable, rare item. Also, it appears on ARC Couriers. Depending on whether you want to optimize for credits or crafting materials, you can sell the item as-is, or break it down into its component parts.
Process results are straightforward and predictable:
You can sell the Vault intact for a high price if you want to use it as a source of credits or if you need materials. As armor panels fall where they are shed, do a lap of the battle area after the Surveyor is defeated.
Counters: Quick read at a glance
The Surveyor, while not a boss, is a moving goal: catch it in transmission, punish its core, and take the panels that it scatters. If a Vault appears, you must decide whether to store credits or use them for the next component.
