How to Get Fracturing Orbs in Path of Exile 2

Fracturing Orbs are strictly tied to endgame Atlas content and Path of Exile 2 Currency cannot drop under normal mapping conditions. Understanding how to unlock their drop pool is essential.

Fracturing Orb Drops from Cleansed Monsters

Fracturing Orbs only drop from cleansed monsters, which do not appear naturally in standard maps. To spawn cleansed monsters, players must first complete a Corrupted Nexus encounter on the Atlas.

Here's how the process works:

1. Enter a map containing a Corrupted Nexus
2. Complete the Corrupted Nexus encounter
3. Nearby Atlas regions become cleansed
4. Cleansed maps gain special modifiers
5. Cleansed monsters can now drop Fracturing Orbs

Without completing a Corrupted Nexus, Fracturing Orbs will never drop, regardless of item quantity or rarity.

Corrupted Nexus Requirements

To spawn a Corrupted Nexus, your Waystone must meet a strict condition:

The Waystone must have at least four explicit modifiers

This requirement often surprises players, but it is mandatory for unlocking this content. Once the Nexus is cleared:

A secondary boss, Eater of Flesh, appears
Defeating it grants Atlas Passive Skill Points
