A dining rug can look beautiful, but the biggest problem is usually chair movement. When placing a rug under the dining table, make sure chairs stay fully on the rug even when pulled out. If the rug is too small, chair legs can catch on the edge, fold the rug, or feel uneven. Thick rugs can also make chairs hard to slide. A low-pile, flatweave, durable rug is usually best for dining areas. Choose a size that supports real daily use, not just how the room looks in photos.
