The Vintage Program in MLB The Show 26 isn't the sort of grind where you need to sit there all night wondering what to do next. It's pretty straight. You earn program XP, move along a 20-step path, grab packs, stubs, player cards, and some Game XP on the way. If you're already working the market or saving MLB 26 stubs for collection pieces, this program fits neatly into that routine because several of its rewards feed right back into the Vintage set chase.

How the reward path works

The track runs from 5 XP to 100 XP, with a reward every 5 XP. Early on, you'll see the usual mix: The Show Packs, 250 Stubs, and 1,000 Game XP drops. The first player reward comes at 20 XP with Luis Arraez, then Robbie Ray appears at 40 XP, Michael Conforto at 60 XP, Lou Gehrig at 80 XP, and Matt Carpenter closes the path at 100 XP. There are better pack stops later too, including a Ballin' is a Habit Pack at 50 XP, a Headliners Random Pack at 75 XP, and a Deluxe Vintage Pack at 95 XP.

Why Ketel Marte is the real target

The reward path is useful, but a lot of players are really looking at the Vintage Collection. Ketel Marte is tied to collecting 25 Vintage Series cards, so simply finishing the program won't be enough by itself. You'll pick up several pieces from the path, then you'll need to fill the gaps through packs, the marketplace, or other content. Names in the set include Derek Jeter, Chase Utley, Larry Walker, Gary Sánchez, Joc Pederson, Gleyber Torres, Nolan Arenado, Xander Bogaerts, Fred McGriff, Tyler O'Neill, Ubaldo Jiménez, and others. It's a proper collection chase, not just a quick claim reward.

Missions that actually move the bar

Program XP comes from stacking missions, and that's where you can save a lot of time. Basic stat goals include 31 hits, 18 strikeouts, 17 runs, 47 total bases, 6 home runs, and 5 wins. There's also a Conquest win mission, so don't ignore that mode if you're trying to be efficient. The Parallel XP tasks matter as well: 2,000, 4,000, and 6,000 PXP with Vintage Series players, plus specific work with Carlos Beltrán, Immortals items, and Jolt Series players. Since the path only needs 100 XP and the available missions offer more than that, you don't have to clear every single task.

Best way to finish without burning out

The smart play is to build a lineup that handles several jobs at once. Put Vintage bats in spots where they'll get plenty of plate appearances, use pitchers who can pile up strikeouts, and take those cards into Conquest or lower-pressure games where you can chase hits and total bases without sweating every pitch. Don't treat the missions like separate errands. That's how the grind feels twice as long. If you're also buying collection pieces with MLB stubs while earning program rewards, you'll get to Marte faster and still pick up solid packs along the way.
